## What happened to Launchpad

- In macOS 26 Tahoe, Apple removed Launchpad. F4 and the pinch gesture now open the Apps view in Spotlight, which can search and filter apps by category but has no pages, no custom folders and no custom ordering.
- macOS 27 has not restored Launchpad.
- LaunchHome restores the original behavior and can import the old Launchpad layout (pages, folders, order) from the old system Launchpad database, when that data still exists on the Mac.

## Features

- Full-screen app grid over a blurred version of your own wallpaper, with multiple swipeable pages
- Folders: drop one app on another to create a folder; rename, page through and drag icons out of folders
- Drag to reorder, drag to the screen edge to change pages; remaining icons fill gaps automatically
- Search by name, partial name and initials; Chinese app names also match by pinyin; type a calculation to get the result
- Open with F4 (no Accessibility permission needed), a hot corner, a four- or five-finger pinch, or any custom shortcut
- Auto-sort apps into folders by category on first launch, or import the old Launchpad layout in one click
- Six page transitions: slide, fade, zoom, cube, flip, stack; adjustable grid size, icon and folder colors, wallpaper blur and dimming
- Widgets: calculator, clipboard history (kept in memory only) and a clock calendar
- Multi-select to hide, remove or uninstall apps in bulk; one-click uninstall that also removes leftovers in ~/Library
- Drag an app to the Dock to keep it there, or to the Trash to delete it

## Privacy

- Layouts, settings and widget data stay on the Mac; clipboard history is never written to disk.
- For trials and license activation the app sends a salted SHA-256 hash of the hardware UUID and the computer name. No analytics or tracking code in the app.
